As you modify your World scene and everything in it, Vatom Spaces constantly saves your work and saves backup archives of your space automatically.
While you don't need to, you can save additional space backups to your Vatom storage or download a JSON reference to your hard drive to archive, replace or transfer to another space.
Automated Backup Files
Spaces automatically saves backups files of your scene regularly in the File > Settings > Backup window. Backups are automatically saved in your spaces Storage. You can also save and name new backup files through this menu.
You can use Restore to Backup to return your scene to the state it was in when that backup was saved.
Backup or Save your Space JSON
As an Admin, simply use the File > Save World option in the File Dropdown to save a JSON reference backup of the entire space and everything in it.
This JSON file contains everything in your space, including all of the following:
- Space Settings
- Plugins
- World Editor Settings
- All Objects
- Object Properties
- Object Interaction Settings
- Plugin Components
- Dropped Vatoms
- Dropped Vatoms will be referenced, and will be able to be picked up by anyone in any duplicate space. We recommend cleaning up Vatom NFTs that have been dropped for Pickup in your space.
Saving a JSON Backup only saves a REFERENCE to the files and not the files themselves.
Files must remain in Space Storage for the original Space where the template was created. If you are copying a space to another URL, the original Storage Folder must retain all asset files.
Any modifications to the space once loaded will occur using local Storage.
Restore or Load your Space
As an Admin, use File > Load World to restore the Space Settings, Objects & Properties of an entire Space.
If you are Loading a JSON into a New Space, you will be prompted about Copying Vatoms and replacing the world contents.
Save backups or archives regularly, especially before loading previously created JSON backup.
Backup & Restore Object Data
You can backup and/or copy an Object and all of its Properties Settings. "Download" is found at the bottom of an Editor Scene Object Properties Info
Replace will replace the main object file. Use this to replace the 3D model or Image File
Download creates a JSON reference of the Object and all the associated properties (Info, Render, Transform, Interact, Components)
Restore to upload a previously saved JSON to the object file.
