Locking your Space
There are several ways to restrict access, lock the space, or add other levels of access security.
- Public (No Security)
- Space @ handle
- Guest Profile
- Require Login
- Password
- Guest List
- Token Gating
- Lock Space (Admin Only)
Space @ Handle
When creating your space, your space is given a handle made of a random string of characters. You can choose to replace this with a custom @ handle for your space. This makes spaces easier to find and quickly access as guests can simply type the custom URL.

User Access Level
Once guests arrive at your Space URL, you can set additional security.
Choose the login requirement for Spaces Users in Studio > Spaces
- Allow Everyone: Allow guests to come in as Anonymous: without a name, email or Profile Picture. They will be given a generic default username.
- Basic Profile: Each guest must add a Name and Profile Picture, but no verification or login.
- Require Login: Require a Vatom Login with email or sms verification.
- Custom Rules: Token Gating or other business rules. Contact us to configure.
Require Login is recommended for events where digital objects can be found or earned, as the NFT Wallet requires a logged-in Vatom account.
Security Setting
Set the Event-level security to control who can access the space from the Event Page
- None: No additional security. Allow anyone with the event link to enter.
- Password: Set a password for the event. Guests must have the event link and password to enter.
- Guest List: Create a guest list of specific email addresses. Guests must log-in using an email address that is on the guest list.
Guest List CSV
The Guest List is uploaded as a CSV document using the following template. It is also available as an attachment to this guide. Only Name and Email fields are required to be filled but all header columns must match the template.

Admin Only / Owner Only
It's possible to lock the space down so only Admins can enter.
Go to File > Settings and adjust the setting for "Who can Enter?". You can choose Anyone, Admins only, or Owner only.
Lock the Space Control Plugin
There's also the Lock Space Plugin. This plugin displays a custom message that prevents guests from accessing the space. It includes a button that can link out to the destination of your choice.
