The Raise your Hand plugin is a simple way for guests to notify that they have a question.
This plugin can be used along with the Presentation Zones plugin to offer guests a way to join the queue and 'request a microphone' similar to an open forum or Question-and-answer.
Raising your Hand
As a guest, there will be a "Raise Hand" button located in the bottom menu bar. Simply press the button to raise your hand, and press it again to lower your hand.
Managing Raised Hands
As an Admin, you can manage guest hands through the Admin > All Hands panel, or through the individual user tab.
By default, you can see hand icons over guests within your standard 10m audio range.
1. All Hands Panel
In the bottom user bar, click the "Admin" button and then "All Hands" to open the Raised Hands panel.
In the Raised Hands menu, you can see everyone in the space that has their hand raised. There are three options available to manage hands.
- Lower Hand - Press the hand icon with a slash to lower that user's hand and remove them from the list.
- Highlight Hand - Press the hand icon to highlight the user's hand green instead of the default blue hand.
- User Menu - Click the user's name or profile picture to open their individual user menu.
2. User Profile Tab
Click the user's avatar or profile picture in the All Hands or People Menu to open the individual user menu.
In this menu you can choose Lower raised hand to lower their hand.
Presentation Zones
Raise Hands can be used alongside Presentation Zones to create a Public Forum Queue, in order to manage guest microphones and bring guests into the presentation as needed.
In a Presentation Zone, open the People Menu to view everyone in the current zone.
With the Raise Hands plugin installed, you can see guests in the zone who have raised their hands.
By clicking on the raised hand icon in the People menu, you will give that user a 'stage megaphone' to join the presentation and speak to everyone in the zone.
Once the guest has a megaphone, you can remove it by clicking on the green megaphone icon.
The guest will be asked to accept a megaphone. When they accept, they will join the presentation. It may take a moment to connect.
Once the guest has accepted the megaphone, a green megaphone appears next to their name. Click this megaphone icon to remove their stage mic and return to default audio.
